Disney are one of the world's best known company.
The villains they come up with, for some of these films, are well...quite evil to say the least. When looking into them more thoroughly and the sort of character they portray, as-well as the storyline, it's hard to believe that they're meant for children. I mean, some of these Disney villains are just plain evil.
1. Scar
Scar is the main villain of Disney's 1994 film the Lion King, and is easy to see why he's earned a place on this list.
He was envious of his older brother Mufasa who was king of the 'pride lands', so he killed him. He then convinced Simba (Mufasa's son) that it was his fault for the death of his father. He also made to his sidekicks, the hyena's to chase after him and kill him, which they didn't manage to do.
Scar then returned to the 'pride lands' and became king. He outlawed Mufusa's name and let the hyena's essentially take of 'pride rock'. The pride lands dried up and food became scarce.
2. Cruella De Vil
Cruella De Vil is a wealthy, fashion-obsessed heiress who wishes to use the skins of 99 Dalmatians puppies for a fur coat. Her physical appearance and general manner was evocative of some sort of horrible beast or monster.
One of her lines sums up her personality remarkably well; “Poison them. Drown them. Bash them in the head. You got any chloroform?”
She also hires two henchmen to help kidnap and skin the dalmatian puppies.
I don't know if anyone has noticed, but something I picked up on was the fact that her sir-names 'de vil', is actually devil when put together.
3. Jafar
Jafar is the sultans faithful adviser in the film Aladdin. Oh sorry, did I say faithful adviser? I meant evil, scheming, jealous, nasty, and down-right creepy adviser.
Jafars quest for power causes him to become full of hatred. He manages to steal a the genie in a lamp from Aladdin, resulting in him overthrowing the kingdom of Agrabah, becoming Sultan and the most powerful sorcerer in the world.

Unfortunately for Jafar, his greediness for power betrays him, when Aladdin tricks him into becoming a genie, as this allows Jafar to be locked away inside a lamp forever.
4. The Queen
The Queen (often referred to as 'Evil Queen' or 'Wicked Queen',) is the main villain of the film 'Snow White', and desires to remain the fairest of them all. This is why she takes a disliking towards Snow White as her beauty surpasses even that of the Queen.
So basically, the Queen transforms herself into an old lady, tricks Snow White into eating a poisoned apple, and cackles with victory over what she's done. I'm sure you all know how the ending goes, it doesn't end well for the Queen. As for Snow White, you'll have to watch the film to find out. :)
5. Maleficent
Maleficent is a sorceress in the film 'Sleeping Beauty'. Maleficent's character design was to represents pure, deliberate, evil. She is ruthless and devious, and will do whatever it takes to achieve what she wants.
Maleficent takes offence at not being invited to the christening of Princess Aurora, and attempts revenge on King Stefan and the Queen by cursing Aurora. The curse causes Princess Aurora to prick herself on a spinning wheel at the age of 16 and die.
6. Lady Tremaine
Lady Tremaine (also known as the wicked stepmother) is the main antagonist in Disney's film 'Cinderella'. Lady Tremaine isn't like your normal sort of Disney villain, as she doesn't try to harm her enemy physically. Her enemy is the beautiful, innocent Cinderella, who Lady Tremaine sets on destroying psychologically.
Lady Tremaine also tries to gain higher status by marrying one of her two daughters to Prince Charming. She has been known to have the reputation as the 'most-hated' Disney villain of all-time.

7. Ursula
Ursula is a sea witch in the Disney film 'The Little Mermaid'. Her appearance is of an obese purple-skinned, white-haired female human, and from the waist down is a black octopus.
Ursula is incredibly manipulative and good at convincing people to do what she wants. She's an unusual villain, in the fact that she puts her two henchmen Flotsam and Jetsam before everything else. Ursula accidentally kills her henchmen and takes her anger out on Ariel. She becomes the ruler of the Ocean and tries to thwart Ariel's plans of becoming human and marrying Prince Eric. Another pleasant character. :)
8. Shan-Yu
Shan-Yu is the ruthless, merciless leader of the Huns in the film Mulan. He is extremely self-confident in both his and his army's strength, and his superiority. Sometimes he allows his enemies to gain the upper-hand in a fight only to prove a point when he defeats them to claim victory.
He isn't below killing in cold blood either and sometimes finds it humorous. Shan-Yu is a lethal fighter, possesses superhuman strength, is an excellent tracker, and a skilled survivalist.
9. Hades
Hades is the Greek god of the Underworld and the main antagonist of the Disney movie 'Hercules'. He is made into an evil figure in the Disney film, where he attempts to steal his brother, Zeus', throne as ruler of Mount Olympus. Hades is portrayed as normally eccentric and cynical, but is very easily angered.
He releases the 'titans' to go and take Olympus and overthrow Zeus. Before Hades did this however, he knew that if Hercules fought, then he would lose. So he made a bargain with Hercules, making him forfeit his superhuman strength for 24 hours, for the safety of Meg (the girl he's in love with). This is when Hades unleashes the titans, and sends one of them, 'cyclops', to go and kill Hercules.
10. Governor Ratcliffe
Governor Ratcliffe is the main villain in the much-loved Disney film 'Pocohontas', and is another power-hungry baddy. He is also extremely greedy, and becomes obsessed with wanting to possess gold.
He does not trust the Native Americans, as he is convinced they are hiding gold from him, so he sends his men to attack them. When it is discovered that the Native Americans do not have the gold, he still commands them to "sound the drums of war".
An interesting bit of trivia about Governor Ratcliffe is, despite being the main villain of the film, he does not interact once with Pocohontas. It's only in the second film when he does.
